During my presentation at the Spectrum 2016, I mentioned that Usability specialists and Tech communicators share concerns and interests regarding the users’ ability to use, understand and gain value of the device or system being developed or deployed.
In fact, if Usability is not done (or not done well), it is the tech writers and trainers who have to fill the gap. A miss in design or engineering has to be made up for in the instructions, user guides and quick reference aids created by Tech Comm professionals.
What happens if the Technical Communications miss the mark? It could mean the difference between your product’s success or failure.
How can you be sure that it doesn’t fail?
In this progression session I will discuss and answer questions about:
- What do you need to do to prepare your project to work with a UX research professional
- How does the UX professional validate the effectiveness of the communication to make the difference and ensure success.
- What is the UX professional going to produce and how will you use it to guide the project to effective tech com products.
