Frances has over 14 years’ experience in techcomm, software testing, and instructional design in both the US and Israel. She came to technical writing from a mechanical and biomedical engineering background. She studied and worked in Israel for 18 years and fondly remembers her Israeli SMEs referring to a rotating beacon used in an educational manufacturing system as a “Kojak”. She is currently developing Help content for metrology (measurement) software in a Rochester company. Recently, she served with Ben Woelk as a co-chair of STC Rochester’s Spectrum 2017 conference.
